Basic cleaning and maintenance for your gaming chair

Basic cleaning & maintenance for your gaming chair

VALK gaming chairs are built for years of heavy use. Quality materials help, but a simple routine keeps your chair looking sharp and working flawlessly.

1. Synthetic leather (PU or PVC): quick, safe cleaning

PU is easy to care for. Mix half a glass of warm water with a drop of neutral soap and dampen a microfibre cloth. Wipe gently—no scrubbing—and dry straight away with a clean cloth. If your chair uses micro-perforated PU, make sure the cloth is well wrung out. Let the chair air-dry away from direct sun.

2. Fabric: vacuum, treat, let dry

Fabric holds dust more easily. Every two or three weeks vacuum with a soft-brush nozzle. Fresh spills? Blot with a damp cloth—don’t rub. Older stains come off with warm water plus neutral soap, applied in light circles. A home trick: sprinkle baking soda on the damp area, wait five minutes, then wipe off with a clean cloth. Always air-dry—no hair-dryers, no harsh sun.

3. How often?

Task Realistic frequency
Vacuum dust & pet hair Every 2-3 weeks
General PU / fabric clean Once a month
De-odour with baking soda Quarterly
Tighten screws Twice a year
Wheel deep-clean When noise or drag appears

4. Wheels: 90 % of chair noises start here

If you hear creaks when moving, dirt is almost always in the axle. Wipe each wheel with a damp cloth, spin it and cut trapped hairs with tweezers or a craft knife. A tiny dab of light grease restores the smooth roll.

5. Screws: five minutes that extend chair life

Daily use slowly loosens the bolts in the base and backrest. Twice a year give every bolt a check with the Allen key that came in the box. You’ll regain firmness and stop slack play damaging the mechanism.

6. Spares & fine-tuning

Need a shorter or longer gas-lift, new wheels or fresh cushions? Find original parts in our spare-part section. One swap is cheaper than a new chair.

With this basic routine your VALK will keep rolling quietly and looking great. Ready for more? See our advanced maintenance guide.
