The beginning of the VALK project

WHO ARE WE?

VALK is a project created by 3 friends gamers born in the '80s who have been lucky enough to enjoy the boom of the videogame world in the last decades. We still remember fondly how we discovered a new virtual world with Nintendo FC/NES, or how year after year we were amazed by the novelties that the rivalry between Super Nintendo and Megadrive brought us. Also, the revolution in graphics came with the arrival of the new generation with PlayStation and Xbox. Without forgetting the one that has always been there, our friend the PC, with which we have lived an exciting journey from the mythical SILVER or Final Fantasy to the current LoL or PUBG, a journey in which the irruption of online gaming was a before and after. How exciting were those first games with friends (and strangers!) to Counter-Strike, World of Warcraft, or Call of Duty!

WHY DID WE CREATE VALK?

Like you, we love video games, but this is not the only reason why we decided to go ahead and launch our own brand. We are not romantics longing for times gone by, our motives have more to do with fairness and honesty. And with our training and professional experience, of course.

First of all, we are unhappy with the (mal)functioning of the industry. We have been working with gaming chairs for a long time, we know all their secrets, and we are unhappy to see that so often quality has little to do with the price you end up paying. The reality is that some of the gamers' money ends up in the pockets of the middlemen, who are concentrating more and more power and are pushing brands to lower the quality of their products in order to maintain their prices. A dynamic that kills the little guys and makes the big guys more and more powerful. 

We know that a comfortable and adjustable gaming chair is essential to enjoy your games, but your gaming chair is also the central element of your setup. In other words, if the chair is uncomfortable or noisy it takes away from the whole gaming experience, and after investing so much in the PC and accessories to enjoy that gaming moment, it's no fun at all. 

We decided to stop being part of the problem and start being part of the solution, and taking advantage of our knowledge and experience in gaming chairs, we set out to create VALK, a transparent and honest alternative for your setup, with the quality you expect and at a fair price, as a result of skipping the middlemen and coming directly to you.

The second reason that motivated us to start is more intimate and less vindictive. Every day there are more and better videogames, yes, but we also have less and less time to enjoy them. With age, responsibilities have come into our lives and have reduced the time we have to play. Now when we can (finally) play, we enjoy it even more than before. It's our moment. And we want our setup to be special and authentic, a place where we feel like ourselves. At VALK we understand how important the gamer setup is for us and we wanted to make our mark in this world we are so passionate about. We wanted to bring something original and authentic, different from the monotonous designs that other brands make nowadays and that try to please everyone... A chair with a unique design, at the height of that special moment that is for us to play. A brand that is a tribute to the geek in us, Lok'tar ogar!

WHERE DOES VALK COME FROM?

The name is inspired by the Viking legend of the Valkyries, legendary warriors characterized by their strength, beauty, and wisdom, 3 attributes that we integrate when designing our chairs, and which are balanced in the triangular shape of our logo.
