Wheels are the part of your chair that works hardest and gets the least attention. They carry your weight, thousands of turns, and every trip rolling over to the fridge between matches. Until one day one starts squeaking, another one drags, and suddenly that's all you can think about.
The good news: replacing the wheels is the fastest, cheapest and easiest replacement there is. At VALK we design our chairs in Spain and manufacture spare parts for every component, wheels included. And since they use the market's standard mount, they also fit most chairs from other brands. Here's when to replace them, how to check compatibility, and which set suits you best.
How to know it's time to replace the wheels
You don't need to wait for a wheel to break. Here are the usual signs:
- New noise: squeaking or rattling that wasn't there before.
- Jerky movement: the chair drags, veers off, or is harder to roll.
- Play and vibration: if you notice the wheel wobbling in its socket, the problem isn't the roll, it's the pin fit.
- Tangled lint and hair: if cleaning the axle no longer fixes it, the wheel is asking to be replaced.
- Cracks or worn tread: once the soft layer wears down and you start rolling on the hard core, you'll notice it in the noise and on the floor.
- Marks on the floor: a worn wheel and nice flooring don't mix.
None of these signs is dramatic on its own, but they all get worse. And a premium chair shouldn't be retired over a 20 euro part.
Compatibility: the 11x22mm mount
All our wheels use a standard 11x22mm mount (an 11mm diameter, 22mm long pin). It's the size fitted on every VALK chair and the vast majority of gaming, office and desk chairs on the market. The usual exception is IKEA, which uses 10mm pins, so those won't fit.
If your chair is a different brand and you're not sure, pull off a wheel, measure the metal pin, or check with the manufacturer. Ten seconds and you'll know for sure.
What makes a good wheel
Here's the difference almost nobody explains, and it's what decides whether your chair rolls smoothly or makes noise.
A chair wheel has two parts. The nylon core, which carries the weight and doesn't warp over the years, and the polyurethane (PU) tread, the soft outer layer that touches the floor. The nylon gives it strength, the PU gives it smoothness, quietness and grip, and it's what keeps the wheel from marking up the floor.
What changes between our sets isn't that some have PU and others don't, they all do. What changes is how much PU. On the more affordable sets the tread is thinner, enough for normal use. On the higher end ones it's thicker, which means a quieter roll, better grip and more years before the soft layer wears down.
And there's a third detail only the best ones have: a plastic bushing on the metal pin, the part that fits into the base. It seats the wheel snugly in its socket instead of leaving metal against metal, so the wheel doesn't wobble, doesn't vibrate, and doesn't make that sharp clunk when changing direction. It's the difference between a chair that makes noise and one that doesn't. It's fitted on the FREYA ELITE and MYLA sets, our high end chairs.
The PRO Rolling Blade wheels are in a class of their own: inline skate style rubber on a steel frame, and they're the ones that treat delicate floors best.
Diameter matters more than it seems
We have wheels in 60, 65 and 75mm, and the difference isn't just looks:
- More diameter, smoother roll. The 75mm ones handle rugs, seams and small bumps better.
- It changes the height (a bit). Going from 60 to 75mm raises the chair by about 7 to 8 millimeters. Almost nobody notices, but we'd rather you know exactly what you're buying.
- The look. Smooth, minimalist finish or sporty spokes. With 75mm, the base gains more presence.
You can fit any diameter on any VALK chair. If you want your chair to stay exactly as it came out of the box, pick your model's standard set. If you feel like an upgrade, keep reading.
Our wheels, one by one
1. Set of 5 PRO Rolling Blade 75mm wheels, the upgrade
The house favorite, and the only set that doesn't come standard on any chair: it's bought separately, as an accessory. Inline skate style rubber on a steel frame, built to glide quietly and be gentle on delicate floors. If you have hardwood, laminate or vinyl flooring, this is the set for you, and you'll feel the difference from the very first push.
They fit any VALK chair, including ones we no longer make like SKADI or EYRA, and almost any chair on the market.
You can see them here: PRO Rolling Blade 75mm Wheels
2. Set of 5 spokeless 75mm wheels, standard on FREYA ELITE
The best of our standard sets. Thick PU tread over a nylon core, a smooth, understated finish matching the chair, 150 kg recommended maximum weight, and the plastic bushing on the pin that eliminates play, vibration and noise. If your chair isn't an ELITE but you want its roll, this set fits too.

3. Set of 5 spoked 75mm wheels, standard on NOMA
Same large diameter as the ones above, with a spoked design that gives it a sportier look. Smooth and quiet, and the logical choice if you want to keep your NOMA exactly as it came from the factory.

4. Set of 5 spokeless 65mm wheels, standard on FREYA and NOMA OFFICE
The middle ground of the catalog: generous PU tread, a smooth, elegant, understated finish, with the same smooth, quiet roll and 150 kg recommended maximum weight.
You can see them here: Spokeless 65mm Wheels
5. Set of 5 spoked 60mm wheels, standard on NYX and GAIA
Spoked design, 150 kg recommended maximum weight and the most affordable set in the catalog. The tread is a bit thinner than on the higher end sets, just enough for normal daily use. These are also the standard wheels on SKADI and EYRA, so if you have either of those at home, they're still available.

6. Set of 5 premium hollow design 60mm wheels, standard on MYLA
The most special ones in the catalog: hollow interior, premium finish, thick PU tread, 150 kg recommended maximum weight and the same plastic bushing on the pin as the FREYA ELITE wheels, so they roll without vibration or noise. Available in two combinations, grey with black and white with grey. If you have a white or light toned chair, VALK or not, these are among the few wheels on the market designed not to clash.

Replacing them: 30 seconds and zero tools
- Lay the chair on its side or turn it upside down.
- Pull the old wheel off firmly. If it resists, gently pry it with a flathead screwdriver.
- Snap the new wheel into place by pressing until it clicks.
- Repeat with all five and you're done.
No screws, no manual, and no calling your brother in law.
We make the chairs. And we keep their parts too
At VALK we design our chairs in Spain and keep spare parts in stock for every component: wheels, pistons, mechanisms, armrests and more, years after you buy your chair. And not only for the models we still sell: if you have a SKADI or an EYRA, their wheels are still available. That's not standard in this industry, but for us after sales service is part of the product: a 300 or 400 euro chair shouldn't end up at the dump because of a 20 euro part.
All our spare parts come with a 3 year warranty, free shipping in Spain in 2 to 3 days, and the same quality standards as our chairs, with UNE-EN 1335 and ISO 9001 certification. You can see the full catalog in VALK Spare Parts, or the general guide to all the parts in spare parts for gaming chairs.
And if it's not the wheels giving you trouble, you might find our guide on the types of mechanisms in our chairs or cleaning and maintenance useful.
FAQ
What are gaming chair wheels made of?
Two things: a rigid core, usually nylon, which carries the weight, and a soft polyurethane tread on the outside, which touches the floor and lets the chair glide quietly without leaving marks.
What separates a good wheel from a bad one isn't the core, it's the thickness of that soft tread. Budget wheels on the market are often bare nylon, with no tread, and that's what scratches hardwood floors and makes noise.
Why does my chair vibrate or make noise when turning?
If the noise shows up when changing direction and you notice the wheel wobbling, the problem is in how the pin fits inside the base, not in the roll itself. When there's play between metal and metal, the wheel vibrates and makes noise.
The FREYA ELITE and MYLA sets have a plastic bushing on the pin specifically for that: it seats the wheel snugly in its socket and eliminates the vibration. If your chair is a different brand and has this issue, fitting one of these two sets usually fixes it.
Which wheels are best for hardwood floors?
The PRO Rolling Blade, no question. They're inline skate style rubber on a steel frame and built for delicate floors. They're not standard on any chair, they're bought separately as an accessory.
If you'd rather keep your chair's original look, the sets with thick PU tread (FREYA ELITE, FREYA, NOMA OFFICE and MYLA) are also gentle on wood.
Do they fit a chair that isn't VALK?
Yes, as long as it uses the 11x22mm mount, the standard for the vast majority of gaming, office and desk chairs. The most common exception is IKEA, which uses 10mm.
Do I need tools to replace them?
No. They snap on: you pull off the old one and push the new one into place, no screws or manual needed.
Can I put 75mm wheels on a chair that came with 60mm ones?
Yes. Just keep in mind the chair will sit a few millimeters higher, between 7 and 8mm, something almost nobody notices but is worth knowing beforehand.
How much weight do they hold?
Sets with a certified maximum weight are rated up to 150 kg, above the maximum of any of our chairs. That's a figure for the full set of five wheels, not for each one individually.
How long do gaming chair wheels last?
With normal use, several years. What wears them out early is dirt building up in the axle, not weight or use itself, so an occasional axle clean extends their life quite a bit before a replacement is needed.
You'll find the cleaning routine in our cleaning and maintenance guide.
If you're not sure which wheels your chair needs, reach out through the VALK Help Center with a photo, and we'll tell you. We're manufacturers, we know this stuff.
